MDA Analysis

Here we have an MDA Analysis of Hell to Pay. What is an MDA Analysis, you ask? Wikipedia says that an MDA Analysis is "... a tool used to analyze games. It formalizes the consumption of games by breaking them down into three components: Mechanics, Dynamics and Aesthetics."

Now mechanics are the base components, the rules, basic actions, algorithms, etc. Dynamics, on the other hand, is the run-time behavior of the mechanics acting on player input and "cooperating" with other mechanics. Finally, the aesthetics are the emotional responses evoked in the player.

Game Design Document

Here we have our design document. Now a Game Design document is a highly descriptive living software design for a video game. This kind of document, as you can guess, is primarily used in the video game industry but, we have a board game so some of the parts do not apply to us.

However, this kind of document, is created and edited by the development team to organize efforts within the team itself.
